Why an after market induction kit?
A good induction kit from a reputable manufacturer will be designed primarily to maximise the volume of dense cool air drawn into your engine. Dense cooler air carries in more oxygen which when burnt, will poduce more power.
The construction of the most effective induction kits will include some kind of air duct taking cool air from the front of the car (often called a cold air induction system) or at the very least, a shroud which isolates the filter from the engine to keep the air entering the filter as cool as it can be.
Most manufacturers offer shrouded induction kits and cold air induction systems but this can depend upon the avaiable room under the bonnet and OE positioning of components such as air flow meters and plenum chambers.
Fit an induction kit along with a good performance exhaust and significant gains in horspower can be acheived with very little outlay!
